I purchased this piece for my collection in Atlantique City years ago from a dealer from Germany.

Covered in mohair and still retaining its original glass eyes, pink satin bow and stitched nose and mouth, it sits approximately 5 inches tall. There is a metal ring that protrudes from her chest that, when tugged, causes the bellows in it to produce a nice loud “squeak”. This is a plus, as often these toys no longer work as the metal ring was the first to be pulled out from overuse. Obviously this toy was not played with that much. Probably German in origin and dating to the late 19th C, it is in excellent condition with a few small spots where the mohair is worn to the thread (mostly on the tips of his ears).

All in all, she is a fabulous and wonderful creature to add to any collection of toys, cats, or to be featured all by herself!
