As you can see by some of my listings, I am going through the garden shed.  Offered here is a set of large wooden orchard buckets used at a local roadside stand to sell apples, peaches, potatoes, etc.  Sometimes they would just use them to set heads of lettuce, or bunches of celery for sale. At Christmas, they would use them in the greenhouse to display poinsettias and Christmas cacti.

They measure 10 inches in diameter by 9 ¾ inches tall.  The paint is old, but may not be original, although the exterior shade matches the interior quite closely, save for some fading and water staining attendant with age and use.  They are in solid and sound condition and have two holes drilled in the bottom of each one, probably for air and water flow.

They are wonderful remnants of an icon of an age past: orchard and farm stands along the highways and back roads in rural areas.  I’ve enjoyed and found many uses for them in the past.  I now am passing them along for someone else to enjoy.
